Job Duties   • To plan, develop, implement and direct the organization's supply chain strategy to support strategic objectives within agreed budgets and timescales, in line with the company’s objectives and mission statement. • Undertake full tactical and strategic responsibility for optimizing the performance of current supply chains, continually improving efficiency and performance throughout the lifecycle of products to deliver strong business performance. • Building, developing and leading a strong team to deliver "best in class" spend planning, strategic sourcing and supplier management. • Embed best-in-class purchasing practices in sourcing and supplier relationship management to maximize delivery of sustainable value throughout the sourcing cycle. • Define and roll out a supplier management process to effectively manage supplier risk, supplier development and to drive supplier innovation. Utilize analytics to enable effective procurement strategies to measure and improve supplier performance against key business objectives while increasing value. • Develop and implement effective ways of working across each site to maximize team performance and contribution. Ensure appropriate communication strategy is in place and in use. • Understand and analyze market data, changing technologies, and global market trends to ensure spend strategies are delivering maximum value while maintaining quality and service. • Develop formal supplier business review program and requirements as part of the overall supplier management process. • Ensuring continuous improvement opportunities are identified and implemented across products, processes and service worldwide. • Build strategic relationships with a network of senior HydraForce local and global stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position purchasing value proposition. • Build strategic relationships with key global suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships. Ensure local considerations are accounted for. • Drive proactive purchasing involvement in the Innovation planning processes with R&D, Commercial, Engineering/Manufacturing to ensure that the complete development of APQP strategies for both existing and new products are maximized. • Evaluate team capability and organizational structure to build a strong team which is able to meet and support the changing needs of the business and anticipated growth, incorporating necessary changes to drive performance and establish best-practice processes. • Review spend categories to set priorities and develop purchasing/business strategies. • Ensure a consistent approach to purchasing in terms of corporate governance and compliance ensuring appropriate procedures and processes are enabled to protect the company’s reputation and brand. • Champion and maintain the company’s values and culture to all stakeholders. • Uphold and drive forward the company’s high quality standards by actively endorsing and promoting all aspects of the Company Mission throughout all areas of the business.
Skills/Knowledge   • Post graduate or professional qualification or relevant, appropriate experience. • Previous experience of successfully managing a global supply chain or purchasing function. • Engineering qualification or background, together with significant experience of working in a manufacturing environment essential. • Have a demonstrable track record of having successfully contributed to the growth and development of business. • Have successfully driven through improvements. • Demonstrable project management skills and invitation to tender experience. • Experienced in negotiating high value/strategic agreements. • Proven experience in creating strategic direction for local or global purchasing team. • Experience of successfully leading an effective team, including experience in effectively managing remote teams across different cultures and environments. • Previous experience within a leadership team. • Have "a hands" on approach and have demonstrated a record of effectively managing and working as part of a complex team or matrix structure. • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written with the ability to communicate with people at all levels and from diverse cultures. • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and suppliers and develop and grow effective teams which will contribute to the business success. • Ability to cultivate, understand and anticipate the needs of the customer and to provide effective solutions and recommendations. • Capable of challenging existing practices, processes and systems to deliver improvements to benefit the business. • Able to evidence broad and comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain within manufacturing and operations and how this contributes to achieving the objectives of the overall business. • Able to undertake significant international travel as required.
