A look at the application of a 21st Century Planning tool and how such tools will affect Planning

Automated Data-Driven Planning Decisions

As we close in on being 20% of the way into the 21st Century, most companies are still focused on fine-tuning planning processes developed to work with technology that was replaced years ago. At a time when we are discussing Blockchain, Robotic Process Automation, and AI systems shouldn't we be updating our planning processes to make full use of technical improvements and new system capabilities? As specific example - can you ensure that data & information from all systems & calculation engines can drive optimization in operations planning and execution? Have you considered what such a shift in process could do for your business? Are your systems capable, and is your business configurable to accomplish process optimization? Jefferey Esenberg from West Monroe Partners will discuss his teams recent experience with prescriptive analytics tools, and using automated data-driven planning to assist in dynamically planning optimal, system-wide production and transportation on a daily basis - a transformational change in systems and processes to determine how to minimize overtime and transportation costs while meeting service level targets.
