Bill Steinke received his Bachelors' degree, with
membership in the
honorary society (Upsilon Chapter Phi Sigma Society), from Miami
University (Oxford, Ohio). He earned a Master of Business
Administration (MBA), with distinction, from Benedictine University
(Lisle, Illinois).
He has worn many hats during his working career, most recently serving
as Demand Manager with responsibility for Forecasting, Demand,
Production, Distribution and Sales and Operations Planning, Warehouse
and Transportation/Logistics management for Nufarm Americas, Inc. a
global agri-chemical company located in Burr Ridge, Illinois. He was
responsible for all rail surface transportation operations and logistics
as part of the BP Petrochemicals North American Commercial Operations
(NACO) team in Naperville, Illinois. NACO supported numerous business
units within the organization. Prior to that and for over 19 years, he
served TTX Company in a wide variety of senior management positions. He
has worked in production, quality assurance, sales, marketing, customer
service, business planning, procurement, material management including
operations, planning and control; distribution, transportation, supply
chain management, fleet management, logistics, distribution analysis and
technical support.
He is an APICS (The Association for Operations Management) CPIM/CIRM
International Qualified Instructor and teaches Fundamentals along with
all certification review courses. In addition to earning the Certified
Fellow Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) and Certified
Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) designations from APICS, he is
also a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) and an Accredited
Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.) through the ISM/NAPM (Institute for Supply
Management/NationalAssociation of Purchasing Management), holds a Certified
Associate
Material Handling certification by way of the Material Handling and
Management Society (MHMS) and a Certified Associate in Business
Management (CABM) with the Association of Professionals in Business
Management. He serves as an adjunct professor teaching CPIM modules in
the Management Development Center at DePaul University, and teaches
C.P.M. certification review courses at Joliet Junior College. He not
only serves APICS and his local Chicago Chapter as an instructor, but
also is the Chapter's President. He served as Vice-Chair of the ISM
Chicago Affiliate Materials Management Committee in addition to serving
as a member of the Affiliate's Chemicals Committee. Bill is also a
qualified (Philip B. Crosby Associates) continuous improvement and total
quality management instructor. In his spare time, he writes
instructional course materials and is an avid reader and as such, is
part of a committee that reviews potential resource items for APICS
(Association) prior to their becoming approved educational materials and
a part of the international APICS Educational Materials Catalog.
