Martin R. Gartner (Marty) has over thirty years of materials, supply chain, and project management experience with a consistent record of success. Along with managing his own manufacturing and service businesses, he had several years of sales/marketing experience before entering the operations and supply chain management fields. For the past several years he has been the principal of a business management consulting firm focusing on materials, inventory, and supply chain management in the manufacturing and distribution areas. He has also provided education and training in those areas.

Marty has worked for and with both smaller and Fortune 500 companies in re-engineering processes, organizational change, corporate and system integrations, process improvements, quick response, improved productivity, inventory reduction, reduced cycle times, and cost reductions. He has also provided a variety of on-site education and training programs to help facilities become self-sufficient and take ownership of their processes and systems.

Marty has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is APICS CFPIM certified, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), an “APICS Qualified Instructor”, and teaches all APICS programs. He is currently on the board and the Vice-President of Education for the APICS-Chicago Chapter. He is a member of the national APICS CPIM Courseware Development Group and is one of the leaders in the roll-out the new APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional Program. He has received project management certificates from DePaul University and is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), the Warehousing and Education Research Council (WERC), the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), and International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA).
