Bill Steinke MBA, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP, QI, C.P.M., A.P.P.,
CAMH, CABM received his Bachelors' degree, with membership in the
honorary society (Upsilon Chapter Phi Sigma Society), from Miami University
(Oxford, Ohio). He studied at the graduate level at The Ohio State University
(Columbus, Ohio) and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA), with
distinction, from Benedictine University (Lisle, Illinois).
He has worn many hats during his working career, most recently serving as
Logistics Manager with, or having had responsibility for Forecasting, Demand,
Distribution and Sales and Operations Planning, Warehouse and domestic and
International Transportation/Logistics Operations management for Nufarm
Americas, Inc., a global agrichemical company with North American headquarters
located in Burr Ridge, Illinois. He was responsible for all rail surface
transportation operations and logistics as part of the BP Petrochemicals North
American Commercial Operations (NACO) team in Naperville, Illinois. NACO
supported numerous business units within the organization. Prior to that and for
over 19 years, he served TTX Company in a wide variety of upper management
positions. He has worked in production, quality assurance, sales, marketing,
customer service, business planning, procurement, material management including
operations, planning and control; distribution, transportation, supply chain
management, fleet management, logistics, distribution analysis and technical
support. Prior to TTX, Bill was an operations manager at Norfolk Southern
Railway (when it was the Norfolk & Western Railroad), worked in manufacturing at
Whirlpool Corporation, sales and marketing at Consolidated Chemical Corporation
and in production at Center Manufacturing.
He is an APICS (The Association for Operations Management) CPIM/CIRM/CSCP
International Qualified Instructor who teaches Fundamentals along with all
certification review courses. In addition to earning the Certified Fellow
Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM), Certified Integrated Resource
Management (CIRM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and Qualified
Instructor (QI) designations from APICS, he is also a Certified Purchasing
Manager (C.P.M.) and an Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.) through the
ISM/NAPM (Institute for Supply Management/National Association of Purchasing
Management). He also holds a Certified Associate Material Handling certification
by way of the Material Handling and Management Society (MHMS) and a Certified
Associate in Business Management (CABM) with the Association of Professionals in
Business Management.
Bill sits or has sat on several college level (Harper College and College of
DuPage) transportation curriculum advisory boards and has served the city of
Chicago as a member of Chicago Association of Commerce and Industry (CACI)
transportation advisory forum. He serves as an adjunct professor teaching CPIM
and CSCP modules in the Management Development Center at DePaul University, and
teaches CPIM and C.P.M. certification review courses at Joliet Junior College.
Bill has taught Operations Management related courses to over two dozen
corporate organizations in the United States and Canada. He not only serves
APICS and his local Chicago Chapter as an instructor, but has also served as the
Chapter's President and Vice President Public Education. He has served on the
ISM Chicago Affiliate Materials Management Committee in addition to having
served as a member of the Affiliate's Chemicals Committee and Logistics and
Supply Chain Management Committee. Bill is also a qualified (Philip B. Crosby
Associates) continuous improvement and total quality management instructor.
In his spare time, he writes and reviews instructional course materials, an avid
reader, he was part of a committee that reviews potential resource items for
APICS (Association) prior to their becoming approved educational materials and a
part of the international APICS Educational Materials Catalog.
Bill, his wife and two of his three children live in Naperville while his third
child is living in Chicago, Illinois.
