Martin R. Gartner (Marty) has over thirty years of materials, supply chain, and project management experience with a consistent record of success. Along with managing his own manufacturing and service businesses, he had several years of sales/marketing experience before entering the operations and supply chain management fields. For the past several years he has been the principal of a business management consulting firm focusing on materials, inventory, and supply chain management in the manufacturing and distribution areas. He has also provided education and training in those areas.

Marty has worked for and with both smaller and Fortune 500 companies such as Fortune Brands, Swingline, ACCO Brands, Day-Timers, Perma Products, Moen, Kraft, Grainger, Blistex, and Abbott Laboratories. He has helped to resolve the challenges of process improvement, organizational change, supply chain management, corporate integrations, improved productivity, quick response, reduced cycle times, inventory and cost reductions. He has provided a variety of on-site education and training programs to help organizations manage their supply chain processes to achieve the desired results.

Marty has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is APICS CFPIM and CSCP certified, an “APICS Qualified Instructor”, and teaches all APICS programs. He is currently on the board and the Vice-President of Education for the APICS-Chicago Chapter. He is a Subject Matter Expert on the APICS Association CPIM Courseware Development Group and is one of the leaders in the roll-out of the new APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional Program. He has received project management certificates from DePaul University and is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), the Warehousing and Education Research Council (WERC), the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), and International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA).
